Classes are held each week in a true working art gallery in downtown Wake Forest where local professional artists create and display their work in many mediums. This gives your child a view of what is possible for their own future in art. Sunflower Studio Art Lessons (ages 6 & up) Days/Times: Tuesdays: 4:30-5:30 (ages 10-up) 5:30-6:30 (ages 6-10) Thursdays: 4:30-5:30 (ages 6-10) Home schooled children also welcomed in all age appropriate classes!
Class Description: What separates most artists from other people is their ability to see art or possibilities of art in the world around them. Beginning with the use of simple shapes, students will begin to see the world from a new perspective. Students will be learning in a fun and relaxed environment as they gain confidence in their creative abilities! This is a class for children who want to improve on their drawing and painting skills in a noncompetitive, positive environment. Talent is not a requirement for this class!
Duration/Cost: The classes will start the first week of August and end the last week of May. The cost is $70.00 a month. Payment is due the first class of each month. A payment box is located on the door of the teaching room. Checks should be made out to Linda Burrell or Sunflower Studio. Class Size: 10-12 students per class Teacher Credentials: Linda Burrell owns and operates Sunflower Studio in downtown Wake Forest. She has over 25 years of art teaching experience and holds a BFA in Art Education from UNC-Greensboro, 1980. Linda is also a professional watercolorist.
