Instructor and Owner of Sunflower Studio and Gallery, Linda Burrell (BFA, Art
Education K-12, UNC-Greeensboro,1980) will be teaching these fun and
educational workshops for children. Each workshop will focus on the
fundamentals of drawing and/or painting and having fun with our creativity! No talent is required.
Each workshop will be one Saturday in each month for 2 1/2 hours. All materials
will be provided. Class size is limited, so please reserve your child’s
space by sending in a non-refundable $10.00 registration fee, with registration
form. Each class will be $25.00 and this deposit will be included in the final
fee ($15.00 due upon arrival of workshop).

Current Workshops, topics, dates and times:
Saturday, May 28th - (1:00- 3:30) Students will draw and color a Red Eyed Tree Frog using oil pastels. Students will learn how to draw a realistic frog and use vibrant pastels on black paper. The focus will be on correct use of pastels, composition and perspective.

SUMMER WORKSHOPS
Art Instructor and Owner of Sunflower Studio andGallery, Linda Burrell (BFA, Art Education K-12, UNC-Greensboro,1980) will be teaching these fun and educational workshops for children. Each workshop will focus on the fundamentals of drawing and painting. Each workshop will be three days per week (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) for two hours, each day. All materials will be provided and a snack will be served during our break (or kidscan bring their own).
Class size is limited, so please reserve your child’s space by sending in a non-refundable $15.00 registration fee, with the registration form. Each three day workshop will be $50.00 and this deposit will be included in the final fee ($35.00 due upon arrival of workshop).

Let your child experience the best art lessons in the Wake Forest area! Not only will your child be taught the essential skills needed to progress in the field of art, they will also receive the benefit of being taught by a professional with a BA in art education, Linda Burrell. Classes are held each week in a true working art gallery in downtown Wake Forest where local professional artists create and display their work in many mediums. This gives your child a view of what is possible for their own future in art. No matter what skills and talent your child has, Linda always helps them get to the next level in a fun and positive way. Sunflower Studio Art Lessons (ages 6 & up) Days/Times: Tuesdays: 4:30-5:30 (ages 10-up) 5:30-6:30 (ages 6-10) Thursdays: 4:30-5:30 (ages 6-10) Home schooled children also welcomed in all age appropriate classes!
Class Description: What separates most artists from other people is their ability to see art or possibilities of art in the world around them. Beginning with the use of simple shapes, students will begin to see the world from a new perspective. Students will be learning in a fun and relaxed environment as they gain confidence in their creative abilities! This is a class for children who want to improve on their drawing and painting skills in a noncompetitive, positive environment. Talent is not a requirement for this class!
Duration/Cost: The classes will start the first week of August and end the last week of May. The cost is $60.00 a month. Payment is due the first class of each month. A payment box is located on the door of the teaching room. Checks should be made out to Linda Burrell or Sunflower Studio. Class Size: 10-12 students per class Teacher Credentials: Linda Burrell owns and operates Sunflower Studio in downtown Wake Forest. She has over 25 years of art teaching experience and holds a BFA in Art Education from UNC-Greensboro, 1980. Linda is also a professional watercolorist.
