Children will be grouped in each class according to age and
skill level.
Art
Instructor and Owner of Sunflower Studio and Gallery, Linda Burrell (BFA, Art
Education K-12, UNC-Greeensboro,1980) will be teaching these fun and
educational workshops for children. Each workshop will focus on the
fundamentals of drawing and/or painting.
Each workshop will be three days per
week (Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays) for two hours, each day. All materials
will be provided and a snack will be served during our break (or kids can bring
their own). Class size is limited, so please reserve your child’s
space by sending in a non-refundable $15.00 registration fee, with registration
form. Each class will be $50.00 and this deposit will be included in the final
fee ($35.00 due upon arrival of workshop).

Watercolor:
Students
will do a drawing with pencil, outline with marker, color with crayon
and paint
the sky (Mixed Media). T-Shirts: Students will design a
composition, color,
iron onto a shirt (teacher) and embellish with marker. Acrylic:
Students will
draw on paper, transfer onto canvas and use acrylic paints to finish.
All
classes
get a lesson on composition, color and use of materials in a fun and
relaxed atmosphere. Wear play clothes! Bring a smile!

Class Description: What separates most artists from other people is their ability to see art or possibilities of art in the world around them. Beginning with the use of simple shapes, students will begin to see the world from a new perspective. Students will be learning in a fun and relaxed environment as they gain confidence in their creative abilities! This is a class for children who want to improve on their drawing and painting skills in a noncompetitive, positive environment. Talent is not a requirement for this class!
Duration/Cost: The classes will start the first week of August and end the last week of May. The cost is $60.00 a month. Payment is due the first class of each month. A payment box is located on the door of the teaching room. Checks should be made out to Linda Burrell or Sunflower Studio. Class Size: 10-12 students per class Teacher Credentials: Linda Burrell owns and operates Sunflower Studio in downtown Wake Forest. She has over 25 years of art teaching experience and holds a BFA in Art Education from UNC-Greensboro, 1980. Linda is also a professional watercolorist.
